I won't be repeating the information on the panel page  where you read about the designer and see picture's of the prototype. This will be more info about the airframe , armament and power plant changes.

Please feel free to correct me on any info. Accuracy is my aim and I welcome input.

There were many Mk's of Spitfire as it evolved and diversified, I think 24 in all.

I will concentrate initially on the generally excepted major jumps in performance.

The Mk1 . Mk V. Mk IX (VII). Mk XIV and the F21

 

 Mk 1 Spitfire

Note 2 or 3 Bladed Propeller. One radiator. Eight machine guns (no cannon yet)

Three bladed propellor. Single radiator and Cannon.
