Original Castle Bromwich Spitfire factory Entertainment minutes book nos
2(pg1 manuals)
This is a historically important and unique document
100% original it has been in my private collection for many
years. It contains the minutes of the CBAF entertainment
committee from 8th September 1943 to the 21st
September 1944.
A unique insight into the social side of the factory
which was a serious business with some big entertainers of
the day performing for the factory workers. Included is an original ARP wardens badge presumably
belonging to one of the committee and a really nice telegram
headed Vickers Armstrong's LTD (Aircraft section)
Castle Bromwich works Birmingham complaining about
arrangements for Ensa.
Also there is a photograph of the substantial
entertainment committee.
It contains over 50 hand written pages. The
members of the committee almost certainly all worked at the
factory in various roles and would be worth further
investigation.
Castle Bromwich was the main factory for the
production of Spitfires and also made Lancasters throughout
WWII. It had a huge work force on shift work working 24 hrs
a day.

Named Original Spitfire Pilots notes (pg1 manuals)
These are rare although there are
modern reprints these are complete and 100% original wartime Pilots notes for
the MK IX, XI and XVI Spitfire.
They are a third edition and were
purchased from the Son of F O A V Rose who trained fighter pilots during the
war.
There are two names on the book with include Bolton and Bradley so have
been used by at least three Pilots. Definitely worthy of further research.

These are rare although there are
modern reprints these are complete and 100% original wartime Pilots notes for
the Harvard 2B .
They are a second edition and were
also purchased from the Son of F O A V Rose who trained fighter pilots during the
war so along with the Spitfire pilots notes above are entirely consistent with
his role as practically all RAF fighter pilots were trained on Harvards.

Spitfire Parts Manual Nos 9 (pg1 manuals)
This is a complete parts manual for the
Spitfire. Its based on the MK XIX however many parts did not change through the
Mk's so this is still relevant for all Mk's. It lists major part numbers for
each Mk and part of the airframe. It then splits down into sub sections with
exploded drawings of all parts and their part numbers. This is a hard copy not a
CD.
It comes in a A4 folder and is
2inches thick containing hundreds of pages.
