This is an original Lancaster undercarriage indicator
it was fitted to the main instrument panel. This
model also appears to be fitted to later Hurricanes being
very similar in design the green lenses are slightly off the
vertical. To my Knowledge it was used exclusively in
these two aircraft.

Mosquito Undercarriage indicator
(Page16 Undercarriage indicators 9)
This is an undercarriage
indicator for the Mosquito, this instrument is
specific to the Mosquito.
Rare in its own right it functions as it
should, it has the additional benefit of being
dated 1942 and is an early
metal version being fitted to the very first operational MKs
of the Mosquito.
A little known fact is that the Mosquito
could carry a 4000Lb Bomb the same payload as the Boeing
B17.
Herman Goring
head of the Luftwaffe was a fan of the Mosquito and had this
to say about it.
"In 1940 I
could at least fly as far as Glasgow in most of my aircraft,
but not now! It makes me furious when I see the Mosquito. I
turn green and yellow with envy.
The British, who
can afford aluminium better than we can, knock together a
beautiful wooden aircraft that every piano factory over
there is building, and they give it a speed which they have
now increased yet again.
What do you make of that?
There is nothing the British do not have. They have the
geniuses and we have the nincompoops.
After the war is over
I'm going to buy a British radio set - then at least I'll
own something that has always worked."

Fleet Air Arm (Page16 Undercarriage
indicators 6)
This is an extremely rare
undercarriage indicator for a deck carrier operated aircraft
in fact the only one I have seen. This can be established
by the deck hook retract light. The Airminstry crown
identifies this as a pre 1944 piece. The only aircraft I am
aware of that used this type of U/C indicator and operated as
carrier cased aircraft at this time were the Sea Hurricane,
Barracuda and possibly the Fairey Firefly. Although Seafires
and other aircraft operated from carriers they did not have
this type of indicator.

Beaufighter/Blenheim Undercarriage
indicators (Page16 Undercarriage indicators 2)
Undercarriage indicator's made
by the Bristol aircraft company. These were definitely
fitted in Beaufighters and the Blenheim and may have been
fitted in other aircraft made by Bristol with retracting
undercarraige..
The Bristol Beaufighter
was a remarkable aircraft. Great strength and power, good
speed at low elevations and a most formidable and flexible
armament. Its premier role was as a
night fighter it was also intended from concept to be
a long-range fighter. It developed into an anti shipping and
ground attack cannon and
rocket-firing fighter, torpedo plane and tactical bomber.
Its versatility and heavy armament feared by the enemy. The Japanese called this
aircraft Whispering death.

Reproduction
Spitfire Undercarriage indicator Kit (Page16 Undercarriage
indicators 1B)
Here are the component
parts for the reproduction Spitfire U/C indicator not
included are the bulb holders, bulbs, copper wire for heat
dispersal from the bulbs or wiring which only comes with the
finished peace shown above.
This kit is 3D printed and does
require more than just assembly to get the best results the
parts need to be sanded, adjusted for fit and painted
to give smoother gloss finish.
The text will require painting with
a fine brush so you will require brushes, paint and glue I
would recommend airfix glue and paint.
The main case comes
with the brass insert fitted.

Reproduction
Spitfire Undercarriage indicator (Page16 Undercarriage
indicators 1)
Here is a reproduction
Spitfire undercarriage indicator.
The one is the
fully finished version which is wired and includes bulbs.
The pictures do not do it justice and it looks much better
in the flesh.
It is exactly to
scale and follows the original design as closely as we are
able to produce one at a reasonable price.
The bulb holders
are an exact copy and will be supplied unfixed and removable
to make it easier to wire them for lights if required.
We have replicated
the copper wires which conduct away the heat of the
bulbs.
That being said It should
not be left unattended as even the originals have a tendency
to melt the lens.
Unlike some of the
other copies I have seen this is robust and will not break
the first time you pick it up.
The only thing which does
not work is the pull down blind , getting this to work may
be an option in the future but would almost certainly
dramatically increase production costs.
The locking bolt and
knob are made of steel , the knob is not an exact copy but
is close and the bolt locates into a brass insert as per the
original design. These are constructed from many parts and
take hours to put together.
They are supplied with
approximately one metre of wire and will required a 12 volt
supply as per the original.

Original Hurricane
undercarriage indicator in good condition fitted to early Hurricanes. This
